I think some of you might find this useful. What I am recommending is called OpenDNS. What it bascially does is speeds up your internet experience.
How you ask? Well in complete layman terms, what this service does is it keeps a directory of all the websites and their addresses (not the .com names but the physical address like 207.142.131.203, aka IP address) in one place and possible somewhere near where you live. So when you type a website name like xanga.com, your computer will know exactly where to go to find this site, it will go to OpenDNS, so basically OpenDNS will act as a directory which will have the locations of all the websites (aka Domain Name Server). Usually what happens is that you computer searches through several DNSes before it finds the exact location of the website you want to visit and that takes some time.
Other than speed, there are two benifits, one is that it will block websites which can harm your computer or can steal personal information from you and second is that it will correct mistakes in URL, like for example if you type – Google.cm, it will correct it to ‘.com’.

Note: I’m not responsible if something goes wrong. Or if you don’t notice any difference in speed. You can just take it out if it doesn’t work for you.
