A lot of new things happened between then and now. Basically, I finally graduated with a BSc. in Computer Science (yay!), went to India for a vacation and then got a new job as a .NET developer after I came back. Yep.

I bought .NET hosting recently to play around for some APIs and such. Recently I’ve been experimenting with mashing up Google Maps API and Craigslist content. You can look at my little demo at – jesal.mooo.com

Meanwhile I’m learning many new and cool things about .NET and other web stuff with some of my work projects. I’ll try and write about some of them in here once in a while.

I like this look compared to the old one only because its more user friendly and readable. The old layout was much more artistic and unconventional compared to this one. I will miss it but this had to be done. This new look is based on the Drunkey Love theme. I still need to do the following things –

  • Update the about page.
  • Spice it up. Add a few graphical elements here and there.
  • Tweak the typography.
  • Create custom portfolio page.
  • Maybe add a theme switcher.

Well anyway these days I'm working on a little side project in ASP.NET/C#. It started as a project for my Web Programming class but now I'm just woking on it to improve my .NET programming skills.

The project can be seen here at – jesal.qsh.in http://ivan.ecs.fullerton.edu/cs473/cs473a29/ – It's a simple little e-commerce book store at this point.

One of the interesting things I've done is that I'm using Amazon's API to get some extra information about the books like the publisher, customer rating etc. Rest of the information is coming from the database.

Another thing is that I've used quite a bit of AJAX wherever I could. I think there is still a lot of room for improving the UI and making it more user friendly.

If any of you have ideas/suggestions for new features, improvements, etc. let me know. I'd love to hear from you!

It was a blast! Too bad it was over too soon. Now it’s back to school and work from this week. I’ve been wanting to work on this site a little bit more but I’m getting lazy. I know this blog is not very pleasent to look at in IE, I don’t think I want to fix that, it just takes too much effort. But I do want to introduce some cool JavaScript animation, lets see when I actually get around to doing that.

Anyway I think that’s all I have to say for now.

I guess I haven’t had much time to write about things. Lot of things happening, one of them is that I changed my job. Yep. Lets see how it works out. Besides that its just been a very stressful summer. I’m glad it’s coming to an end. I’m looking forward to my vacation before Fall semester starts. It should be fun.

Somehow it felt like I did a ton of coding this summer; thus the title. Mainly in C++, ASP.NET/C#, PHP, and MySQL. Some of it for work and some for school assignments. It was challenging and fun though, I’m not complaining.

I was also surprised by how much I enjoyed my database systems class. Hmm…maybe I should become a DBA?
